🎭 Introducing Motorhome Marilyn 🎭

Michelle Collins makes her Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut in Motorhome Marilyn, a dark comedy by Ben Weatherill, playing Doonstairs, Gilded Balloon Patter House, from 30 July to 25 August 2025 (except 13 August) at 5.30pm (60 mins).

Meet Denise. Denise always wanted to be someone. A star. Instead, she’s living in a sun-bleached motorhome in the Nevada desert, eking out a living as a Marilyn Monroe impersonator and talking to her python called Bobby.

But Denise has a secret. Something buried in the sand. Coiled, ready to strike.

Motorhome Marilyn is a twisted, tragicomic tale of failure, identity, survival - and the things we leave behind. It’s dark, twisted, funny. And it might just break your heart.

Inspired by Michelle's real-life encounter with a woman known as Motorhome Marilyn, the play reveals the toll of living in the shadow of an icon, exploring failure, ageing and the heartbreaking cost of unattained dreams. Michelle said: “I am thrilled to be making my Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut with Motorhome Marilyn, a wonderful new play which is dark, funny and so close to my heart.”

Directed by Alexandra Spencer-Jones, produced by The Production Garden Limited, and starring the iconic Michelle Collins (EastEnders, The Illustrated Mum, Two Thousand Acres of Sky), Motorhome Marilyn is a cocktail of Shirley Valentine, the Coen Brothers, and a twist of Blanche DuBois.
